TrackieX was a GPS tracker coupled with a mobile app, which allows parents / guardians stay connected to their children and loved-ones wherever they go. The Sri Lankan market has seen few similar products but, inferior in nature which has become a dampener in the market. The objective was to position TrackieX as a superior product with greater functionality. This was a tricky market and needed a lot of transparency when it comes to provision of information and allow the target market to make an informed decision.

Company Profile

TrackieX is a simple to use GPS tracker and mobile app designed to help parents keep track of their children. By attaching our GPS device to your child’s bag, pouch, or belt loop, you can check your child’s location and know they’re safe wherever they are. While TrackieX does not replace the in-person security you provide as a parent, it can be used for you and your children when you’re physically apart.

 

 

 

Problem

The product was being launched to the market and was competing against few of the products offered by leading Telco providers. While TrackieX was superior to the existing product, the awareness creation and also placing them in line or above the placement of the existing product was the biggest problem/challenge faced. The challenge here was to create enough pre-launch awareness and buzz about the product so that the target market becomes educated about the product and its uses.
